To the One Who Never Thought They’d Lead Anyone to Christ
I didn’t ask for this role.
In fact, I avoided it every chance I got.
I never wanted to talk to strangers about faith.
Never wanted to explain salvation to someone who wasn’t sure.
I was the quiet one.
Hoping someone else would step up.
Because deep down?
I didn’t feel worthy.
Didn’t feel capable.
Didn’t feel qualified to lead anyone, especially not toward Christ.
You’re Not Where You Started... But You’re Not “There” Yet Either
As a Wayfarer, I wasn’t confused like I’d been.
I wasn’t numb, or cynical, or angry anymore.
I knew who Christ was.
I believed. I wanted to follow Him.
But I still stumbled.
Still resisted... in quiet, subtle ways.
Not because I didn’t love Jesus.
But because I was still learning to let Him shape everything:
-
My thoughts.
-
My time.
-
My habits.
-
My reactions.
-
My pride.
But Here I Am
Decades later.
Still stumbling. Still fumbling.
Still needing grace every single day.
And somehow, I’ve become the Companion I once feared becoming.
Not because I got stronger.
But because Christ never stopped walking with me.
Even when I slowed down.
Even when I wandered off.
Even when I knew better... and still failed.
Two Things Changed Everything
1. Christ Calls Us to Make Disciples
Not just to reach unbelievers.
But to keep believers in the fight.
Because one day you're devoted, and the next, you've drifted.
We need each other to stay rooted.
2. Jesus Never Promised Easy
He promised presence.
He warned it would be uncomfortable. Painful even.
But He also said, “I am with you.”
Every step. Every word.
Every moment you feel out of place or out of your depth... He’s there.
That’s the Place I’ve Learned to Chase
Not a pulpit.
Not a platform.
Just the quiet presence of Christ at the foot of the Cross.
That’s where joy lives.
That’s where peace begins.
Because when I’m there, I don’t have to carry my guilt, fear, or doubt.
I can lay it down, not to be ignored,
but to be lifted.
Lifted by Christ, who promised He would take it.
And He does.
So Now, I Speak. I Share.
Not because I trust in me.
But because I trust in Him.
And if you’re carrying a backpack full of rocks...
Fear. Shame. Trauma. Failure.
I’m here to help you drop it.
Not by fixing you.
Not by preaching at you.
Just by pointing to the One who took mine.
And Here’s Something Most People Don’t Tell You
God wants you to test Him.
To bring your doubts. Your weight. Your past.
And see what He can do with it.
Because He can do anything.
And I’m living proof.
